Yadira Villanueva Mayo

Yadira Villanueva Mayo of Johnston passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on the morning of December 30, 2025, her 41st birthday.  Yadira was the beloved wife of Carlos Lopez and the adoring mother of Carlos “Carlitos” Lopez.

Yadira was born in Guerrero, Mexico on December 30, 1984, daughter of Guadeloupe Villanueva and Lorenza Mayo.  Miss Villanueva worked for Scramblers Restaurant in Johnson for the past 20 years, where she worked her way up to being the restaurant’s manager. 

She was a selfless person who dedicated herself to helping those in need.  Yadira was a deeply committed and beloved member of the community at Living Waters Church in Smithfield.  Miss Villanueva enjoyed people and had a place in her big heart for children. 

Above all, Yadira was a fantastic mother and wife.  Her legacy will live on through the impact she made on her family and friends.

Yadira Villanueva Mayo is survived by her husband Carlos Lopez of Johnston.  She was the mother of Carlitos Lopez.  Yadira is survived by several brothers and sisters, relatives and friends. 

A Visitation to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held on Wednesday January 7th at 7pm in Living Waters Church 251 Stillwater Rd Smithfield.  Yadira’s funeral service will begin at 7:30pm in the church.  A committal service will be celebrated on Thursday January 8th at 10am in North Burial Ground 5 Branch Ave in Providence.  Arrangements entrusted to the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls, RI.
