William Vega, the youngest child of the late Clemente Vega and Teresa Garcia passed away on December 10, 2022 at The Miriam Hospital in Providence. He was 57 years old. Mr. Vega was born on November 10, 1965 in Caguas, Puerto Rico and came to Rhode Island at the age of 17, graduating from Central Falls High School.
William worked as a CNA at one time for the former Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket and spent several years with Slater Nursing Home (now Pawtucket Falls) on Gill Ave in Pawtucket. Mr. Vega made Pawtucket his home after moving back to Rhode Island from Florida.
He was the definition of “The Cool Uncle”. His nieces and nephews loved hanging out with “Uncle Willy” and he wasn’t afraid to bust on them if they found themselves in his crosshairs. William had a joke for anything and he enjoyed his wine and vodka. He will be missed greatly by all of his family and friends.
William was the youngest sibling of; Carmen Castro, Milna Santana, Jimmy Vega, Ruth Vega, Thomas Vega, Maria Fonseca, Jose Vega, Efrain Vega and Julio Medina. He was the BELOVED and BEST uncle of 29 nieces and nephews. William is also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews.
There are no formal services planned for William. Private Cremation will take place at Western Hills Crematory in Cranston. Arrangements are under the care of Charles Coelho Funreal Home of Central Falls.
