Victor Cortes Vargas 69 of Woonsocket passed away on January 28, 2025 at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on May 1, 1955 to his parents Victor Cortes and Hermania Vargas.
After arriving from Puerto Rico, Victor spent several years living in The Bronx, New York City. He was a funny person who processed a gigantic heart that was filled with kindness. Mr. Cortes enjoyed cooking on his grill during the summer and spending time with his family. He was an incredible Dad and grandfather. Some may describe him as a fishing fanatic as well as a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Victor Cores Vargas is survived by his wife Gloria Negron of Woonsocket, his 3 daughters; Lydia Almodovar of Woonsocket, Wanda Almodovar of Providence, Sonia Cortes of Woonsocket and his son Victor Cortes of Woonsocket. He was the proud grandfather of 13 and a great grandfather of 21. Mr. Cortes is also survived by several brothers and sisters.
Visiting Hours for Victor will be held on Tuesday February 4th from 5-8pm in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls. A funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday February 5th at 10am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Bellingham, MA.
