Thomas "Tom" Scott Palmateer, 59, of Central Falls and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully at Miriam Hospital in Providence after a four and one half year battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Charles and Jacqueline (Borntrager) Palmateer.
Tom has resided in the Pawtucket, Central Falls area for several years. He had been employed at Gregg's Restaurant on No. Main Street in Providence for many years as a server. He was a very efficient employee and was liked by many people. Tom knew his regular customer's, he would know exactly what their beverage order would be and know what the person's choice of entree would be. He was always cheerful and made pleasant conversation.
He is survived by a son, James C. Hazard of Providence, three brothers, Gerald, Michael and his wife Marie and William and his wife Lynn, two sisters, Cynthia Grady and Patricia and her husband Don Tucker, many nieces, nephews and cousins plus a multitude of friends.
A Memorial Service is planned for a later date to be announced.
