Steven Paul Lavallee of North Smithfield died peacefully on October 15, 2024 at the Philip Hulitar Hope Hospice following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on November 14, 1966 in Woonsocket, RI, son of the late Gloria Giguere and Paul F. Lavallee.
Mr. Lavallee was a lifelong resident of North Smithfield. He enlisted into the United States Navy as a young man to serve the country he loved until he was medically discharged during his time in basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, IL. Steven wasn’t kept down for long though, as he would earn two separate bachelor’s degrees in Electronics and Business Management. He was also talented in carpentry, a profession in which he was self-employed.
Steven was a man who enjoyed helping other people. As a long-time and faith member of Alcoholics Anonymous, Mr. Lavallee took members under his wing in attempt assist them in their journey forward. He was a member of the carpenters union, the Elks of Smithfield and American Legion Post 85 of Woonsocket. Steven was a good man who will be remembered as a great brother and friend.
Steven Paul Lavallee is survived by his sister Pamela Goden of North Smithfield. He is also survived by Maurice and Lillian Labelle, Lynn and Phill Adams, Robert and Wendy Labelle, Gayle McGrath, Lisa Miller, Wendy Lavallee and Linda Lavallee. He is also survived by Julie French and his former wife and friend Denise O’Connell.
A funeral service will be held at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Park Square in Woonsocket at a time and date to be announced. Arrangements are under the care of the Charles Coelho Funeral Home of Central Falls.
