Stephen Goulet Obituary

Goulet, Stephen E. 67 of Greenville, passed away on December 13, 2020.  He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Brady) Goulet, they have been married for 48 years.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Edward H. Goulet and the late Mildred (Quinlan) Goulet.  Stephen formerly resided in Putnam, CT, Burrillville,  and Cumberland, where he raised his family. 

  

  Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters; Shane Goulet-Leclerc and her husband Valmore of  Greenville, RI. and Sarah (Goulet) Mccooey and her husband Thomas of Thompson, CT.  Four grandchildren; Quinn Mackenna Leclerc, Kennedy Brady McCooey, Thomas North McCooey and Shea Brady Leclerc.  He was the brother of Robin (Goulet) Caron and her husband Anthony.  He is also survived by his 3 sister-in-laws, his brother-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and many loved extended family and friends.

  

  Stephen was a 1971 graduate of Pawtucket West High School, where he was an All-State tennis champ.  He was a graduate of New England Institute of Anatomy in Boston.  A licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director, Stephen was the owner of The Moffett, Goulet and Davis funeral home in Warwick Neck.  He was also the owner of a successful fastener supply company.  Stephen was a Forensic agent for the State of Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office for almost 30 years. Upon his retirement, he decided to return to his medical roots as a nurse where he worked at Overlook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center until his Multiple Myeloma diagnosis 2 ½ years ago.

 

   Stephen was an outdoorsman, he loved fishing and had a great love of archery. He was highly skilled with a Compound Bow.  He could often be found at Archer’s Lane, where he was a longtime member and an accomplished competitor. He often traveled throughout New England competing in tournaments.  An avid hunter, he was also a member of the 30 Art 6 Rod and Gun Club as well as Wallum Lake Rod and Gun Club where he enjoyed trap shooting.  He was a member of the Lion’s Club.  A Master Mason, he was a member of The Mount Moriah Lodge No. 8 and went on to become a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Freemason.

    

     He was a fabulous cook and baker and enjoyed making gourmet meals for his family and friends.  He loved spending time with his family and he adored his grandchildren.  He fought a courageous and brave battle.  He was beloved by all. 

 

     Due to Covid 19 restrictions, Funeral will be omitted.  A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.  In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
