Stephanie Mildred Powell

Stephanie Mildred Powell passed away peacefully with her cherished daughter at her side on October 24, 2025, at Philip Hulitar Hope Hospice in Providence.  Ms. Powell was 55 years old. 

Stephanie was born on May 4, 1970, in Providence, RI.  She later moved to Pittsfield, Massachusetts in 1982 at the age of 12, where she went on to graduate from Taconic High School.  In 1992 she moved back to Rhode Island and called “The Ocean State” home ever since.  For several years she spent time working as a teacher’s assistant at The JCC (The Jewish Community Center) on the East Side in Providence. 

Ms. Powell was an exceptional Mom who did anything for her daughter, who was her best friend.  She was a low key and laid-back person who loved to go shopping. 

Stephanie Powell is survived by her best friend and daughter, Quechelle Powell of Providence.  She was the sister of Charles “Evan” Powell, Maxwell Whiting, Latoya Whiting and the late Brian Andrews.

A Memorial Service to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held at a later date at Ebenezer Baptist Church   475 Cranston St. in Providence.  Arrangements are under the care of the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. in Central Falls.
