Ronald P. "Ronnie" Thornley, 81, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, after a battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Madonna (Alsworth) Thornley who passed away last February. He was born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Thomas and Veronica Thornley and has lived in the Pawtucket area most of his life.
Ronnie, well known in the roofing industry, had been employed for some time for Gorman Roofing Co. He also had been a self employed contractor for several years. He served in the United States Navy in the 50's and was honorably discharged in 1958. Ronnie was a member of the Garfield Social Club of Central Falls for many years.
He is survived by two sons Patrick Thornley of Pawtucket and William Thornley of No. Providence, a brother David Thornley of Exeter, RI and two Grandchildren. He also was the brother of Thomas Thornley Jr. and Marjorie Thornley formerly of Atlanta GA. and Timothy Thornley of Virginia.
A Memorial Gathering, with Military Honors , will be held SATURDAY AFTERNOON, from 1 until 3 PM in the Coelho Home, Central Falls. Military Honors will be rendered at 2:30 PM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
