Olivia Toro Paredes 84 of Central Falls passed away at her home on the morning of March 10, 2025. Mrs. Toro was the wife of the late Guillermo Toro.
Olivia was born in Laromana, Dominican Republic on August 14, 1940, to the late Cirilo Creque and Vincenta Paredes. From the age of 5, she was raised by her mother and her stepfather, Antonio Jimenez. In 1963, Olivia married the love of her life, Guillermo. She often bragged with humor to people that she never had to work because she had a good husband. However, she worked and was dedicated to her work as a homemaker and raising her children.
On May 27, 1978, Olivia came to the United States, settling in Passaic, New Jersey. The family called Passaic home for 16 wonderful years. The family has so many happy memories in Passaic. In 1994, the family decided to move to Rhode Island, calling The Ocean State home ever since.
A very sociable person, Olivia had a natural nurturing way about her. She would open her home to relatives and friends who were just arriving from the Dominican Republic and help them get adjusted to life in the United States. Mrs. Toro was not afraid to speak her mind and stand up for people. She was beloved everywhere, especially in Passaic. Olivia enjoyed BINGO, music and dancing.
