Olga Silva-Marin, a longtime resident and community leader of Central Falls passed away on the evening of February 23, 2025. Ms. Silva-Marin was 75 years old.
Olga was born on May 6, 1949, in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Sara Marin and Juan Silva. She was a driven and focused woman who was dedicated to her community of Central Falls and her church, Iglesia de Restauracion Nuevo Comienzo (RNC). Ms. Silva-Marin enjoyed the arts, music and cultural events. Her mission in life was to make a difference and make the lives of others better, a goal that she achieved repeatedly throughout the years.
Most recently, Olga enjoyed traveling and assisting at her church. Family and friends were everything to her. Above all else, Ms. Silva-Marin was a great mother. Olga has left her mark on this world who was so lucky to have her for 75 years.
Olga Silva-Marin is survived by her children, Gina Silva of Central Falls, Alexander Silva and his wife Makayla of Providence, Martin Baldera and his husband Alido of Providence, Mercy Rivera of Lowell, MA, Juan Rivera of Eugene, Oregon and Sari Osorio of Pawtucket. She was a beloved grandmother of 15 and was blessed to be a great grandmother of 4. Olga is also survived by her siblings; Guillermo Silva-Marin of Toronto, ON, Canada, Roberto Silva-Marin of Puerto Rico, Andrew Silva-Marin of Puerto Rico and Elba Silva-Marin of Woonsocket. In addition to her parents, Olga reunited with her sisters the late Sally Silva-Marin and Hilda Chamorro.
Visiting Hours will be held for Olga on Thursday February 27th from 4-7pm in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls. A funeral service will be celebrated during the visitation. In accordance with Olga’s wishes, private cremation will follow.
