Noemia Costa, 83 of Central Falls, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio DaCosta. She was born in Madeira Island, Portugal, a daughter of the late Manuel Aveiro and Maria Franco. She had been a resident of Madeira for more than 30 years before immigrating to the United States of America on Thanksgiving Day, 1975. Noemia loved this country and became a citizen in 1996. She had been employed at the former Standard Romper in Central Falls and also at Interpak in Pawtucket. Noemia dedicated her life and love for God, She was very involved with her church, Christian Brethren of Pawtucket. She loved her family and cherished the time spent with them. She also had many friends and was a well loved member of the community at Forand Manor where she lived many years.
She is survived by her brother Joel Aveiro and his wife Leonor, her brothers-in-law Pedro Andrade, Jose Costa, her nephews Jose P. Andrade and his wife Lynda, Jose N. Andrade and his wife Maria, and Joel Aveiro Jr., Goddaughter and niece, Noemia Aveiro and her husband Goncalo Teixeira, Arlindo Andrade and his wife Amelia, and Jose Joao Andrade and his wife Lourdes, Paulo Andrade and his wife Patricia, her Goddaughter and Great Niece Kelly Young, Great Nephews Jason Andrade, and Joseph Andrade and her Great Niece Jennifer Garcia. She also leaves several Great Great Nieces and Nephews as well as extended relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Daniel, Samuel, Jose and Manuel Aveiro, as well as her nephew Renato Aveiro.
Her family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to her doctors at Blackstone Medical, the entire medical staff and team members at Women and infants Hospital, as well as the BCBS BlueRI for Duals team for their oustanding care and services provided.
Her VISITATION will be in the COELHO HOME, Friday evening from 5 until 8PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday in the Funeral Home At 10:30AM, 151 Cross St. Central Falls. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend from 9:30AM. Interment will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Boulevard, Providence, RI.
