Melody-Lea "Mel" Peirce Obituary

Melody-Lea Zanna Peirce “Mel” died peacefully on the evening of December 11, 2024, under the care of Philip Hulitar Hope Hospice in Providence, following a long period of declining health.  Mel was 42 years old.  She was born in Attleboro, MA on September 21, 1982, to Laurel (Beardsworth) Dion and the late William Peirce.

Ms. Peirce spent the early years of her childhood living in Attleboro before moving to Pawtucket.  Mel was a member of the graduating class of 2001 at William Davies, Jr. Career & Technical High School in Lincoln where she specialized in culinary and took an interest in becoming a pastry chef.  She would go onto find her niche in healthcare and became a Certified Nursing Assistant applying her skills while caring for the residents at Oakland Grove Nursing Home in Woonsocket for several years.  Many who knew Mel will always remember her for being the light in the room despite her health battles through the years.

Melody-Lea Zanna Peirce is survived by her three children Jordan, Jayde and Janessa of Oklahoma.  She leaves behind her mother Laurel Ann Dion and her husband Robert of North Smithfield.  Mel was the beloved sister of Jarrod Peirce of North Smithfield. Ms. Peirce was the partner of Paul O’Neil of Warwick.  She is also survived by many friends and relatives.

In accordance with her wishes all services will be held private.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Charles Coelho Funeral Home in Central Falls.
