Mary V. Teixeira, known lovingly by her family as 'Mia', passed away on the morning of October 30th, 2023. Having just celebrated her 99th birthday, October, Mia lived a long and very fulfilling life.
She is survived by her two brothers, Luis Teixeira and his wife Carol and Mario Teixeira and his wife Emily. She is predeceased by her siblings, Manuel, Armand, Antonio, Irene, Hilda and Aurora. She was a loving Aunt, adored by her many nieces and nephews, as well as her great nieces and nephews.
Mia loved to travel as well as visiting the casinos. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and was rarely found without a game on her TV. Christmas Eve was a time-honored tradition at Mia's house, full of love, laughter, and chicken soup. It was a place to learn, to play cards, watch the lights in her Christmas village, and catch up with loved ones.
Mia was an incredible person, selfless and full of love. She will truly be missed.
Mary V. Teixeira, 99 years of age, passed away peacefully on Monday after an illness. She was born in Attleboro, MA, a daughter of the late Antonio A. and Maria (Cunha) Teixeira and was a lifelong resident of Cumberland.
Mary had been employed for many years as an office manager for Prudential Insurance Co. before her retirement. She was a graduate of Bryant College with a degree in Business.
She is survived by her brother Luis Teixeira and his wife Carol of Pawtucket and Mario Teixeira of Cumberland. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by seven siblings.
A Catholic Funeral Prayer Service will be held on Thursday morning at 11 Am in the Coelho Home, Central Falls. VISITATION will be Thursday from 9 AM prior to the Service. Relative and friends are respectfully welcome to attend. Burial will be in the family plot at Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket.
