Mariano Santiago, 69, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully at home after a battle with kidney disease. He was the husband of Luz Benitez. Mariano was born in Ciales, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Rafael Santiago and Ermensia Morales and has lived in Rhode Island for the late 40 plus years. He had been employed as a factory worker in local industries for several years prior to his illness.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Elvis Santiago and Pedro DeLaCruz both of Florida and Rey Santiago of Pawtucket; three sisters, Marjorie Santiago of Florida, Wanda DeLaCruz of Cumberland and Maria Flores of Providence. He also leaves two brothers, Miguel Santiago of Boston, Ma and Angel Santiago of No. Carolina; two sisters, Sonia Morales of Providence and Rosie Santiago of Puerto Rico. He was the Grandfather of 24 and Great Grandfather to numerous Great Grandchildren.
VISITATION, will be THURSDAY evening, 5 until 8 PM in the Coelho Home in Central Falls. His Funeral Service will be held FRIDAY morning at 10 AM. Burial will follow in No. Burial Ground, 5 Branch Avenue Providence. Relatives and friends are respectfully welcome to attend.
