Maria Perez Caban

Maria Perez Caban of Cranston passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on May 31, 2023.  Maria was 92 years old.  She was the wife of the late Juan Antonio Rivera. 

Maria was born on November 22, 1930 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to her parents the late Emilio Perez and Balveina Caban.  She worked for Albergue Caritativo Tricoche Hospital in Ponce for 35 years.  Mrs. Perez Caban had called Rhode Island her home since 2007.  A woman of strong faith, Maria was a devote Catholic. 

Mrs. Perez Caban was the beloved mother of Maria Diaz of Pawtucket, Juana Diaz of Florida, Felix Diaz of Pawtucket, Francisco Diaz of Puerto Rico and the late Hiram Diaz.  She was a loving sister to 7 siblings including; Ilma Collago of Puerto Rico and Valentine Perez of Pennsylvania.  Maria was a proud grandmother of 14, a great grandmother of 30 and a great great grandmother of 6.

All services in Rhode Island will be private.  Maria will be laid to rest in her hometown of Ponce, Puerto Rico.  Arrangements are under the care of The Coelho Home of Central Falls, RI.
