Maria Elena Montoya deCardenas

Maria Elena Montoya deCardenas, 78, of Pawtucket and formerly of Colombia, passed into eternal rest on Monday morning, after an illness. She was the beloved wife of Angel Gabriel Cardenas. She was born in Fredonia, Colombia a daughter of the late Maria Montoya. She had lived in Colombia several years before coming to Rhode Island.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Maria Cardenas of Florida, Gloria and Beatriz Cardenas both of Pawtucket; five sons, Jairo Cardenas of Johnston, Ivan Cardenas of Foster, Jaime Cardenas of Colombia, Angel Cardenas of Providence and Carlos Cardenas of Warwick. She also leaves 13 Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three siblings.

Visitation in the Coelho Home on Wednesday from 5 until  8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 AM in Holy Spirit Parish Church, Dexter Street, Central Falls. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
