Maria Grace Cabral 74 of Woonsocket, formerly of Pawtucket passed away on June 30, 2026 at RI Hospital in Providence following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Emmanuel Cabral.
Maria was born on October 16, 1951 in Faja De Baixo, St. Michael’s in the Azores to the late Judith (Tavares) and Francisco Ferreira. She was an extremely motivated and intelligent woman, as she owned and operated Smith’s Florist in Pawtucket before moving Smith’s and merging the business with Carlisi’s Florist in East Providence. Mrs. Cabral also owned Cabral’s Fashions. Maria’s work ethic was only matched by her heart. She was known for helping people, including times when she would donate flowers to a child’s funeral or help a friend without any want for a return.
She was a loving and caring woman who held her family close to her heart, especially her granddaughters. Maria’s talent with flowers extended to her home and her grapevine arch which acted as a car port over the driveway. Maria was a deeply religious woman of strong a Catholic faith.
Maria G. Cabral is survived by her daughters; Carla Cabral and Melissa O’Toole. She was the proud grandmother of Shyann O’Toole and Khole O’Toole. Maria was the beloved sister of Antonio Ferreira, Leanore Texiera, Natalia Ferreira and the late Humberto Moniz, Amancio Moniz and Carlos Ferreria.
Committal Services will be held at 9:30am on Friday July 3rd in Notre Dame Cemetery in Pawtucket. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls, RI.
