Maria Stella Bobea

Maria Stella Bobea 91 of Providence passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.  Ms. Bobea was born on April 26, 1933 in San Cristobal, Dominican Republic and was the daughter of Cristobalina Rodriguez.

Maria immigrated to the United States 40 years ago and was a resident of Rhode Island for over 30 years.  Prior to living in Rhode Island, she lived in Puerto Rico and New Jersey.  She was a strong-willed woman who was protective of her family.  Ms. Bobea was an encouraging figure in her children’s lives and an excellent mother. Maria was full of life and had a fiery personality.   She gave up everything for her children and wanted nothing more than for them to be successful.  Ms. Bobea loved having a good time and loved to dance.

Maria Stella Bobea is survived by her children; Altagracia Bobea of Dominican Republic, Merecedes Bobea of Central Falls, Fernando Boblea of Dominican Republic, Valentine Boblea of Waterbury, CT, Yolanda Francisco of Providence and Nelson Bobea of Holland.was was a proud grandmother of 19 and a great grandmother of 11.  In addition to her mother, Maria is reunited with her brothers and sisters.

Visitation will take place on Friday May 24th from 9-11am in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls, RI.  A funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home at 11am.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Greenwich, RI.
