Luka J. Ilic

Luka J. Ilic of Pawtucket passed away on February 28, 2025, at The Miriam Hospital in Providence following a brief illness.  Mr. Ilic was 73 years old.  He was born in Passau, Germany on July 14, 1951, son of the late Christine (Stockbauer) and Milan Ilic.

Luka came to the United States when he was 3 years old, his family settling in Rhode Island.  He spent time living in Federal Hill and later made Pawtucket his home.  Mr. Ilic worked in local textile mills for many years. 

A kind man, Luka would take the shirt off his back for someone even if he didn’t have much himself at the time.  He enjoyed going for long car rides.  In the 1960’s-70’s, Luka raced pigeons, a hobby that brought him a lot of good times and happy memories.

Luka J. Ilic is survived by his 3 children, Erika Holman, Christopher Ilic and Luka J. Ilic, Jr., all of South Carolina.  He was the beloved grandfather of Shiann Anderson, Abrianna Holman and Shania Ilic.  Mr. Ilic is survived by his 2 great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Drayson.  Luka leaves behind his siblings, Jowanka Brouillette of Pawtucket, Milanka Brederson of North Attleboro, MA, Janek Ilic of Cumberland, Dragan Ilic of Pawtucket, Richard M. Ilic of East Providence, Mary Ilic of Pawtucket and Helga Ilic of Pawtucket.  He is reunited with his brothers the late Gunther R. Ilic and Dragomir Ilic.  Also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours for Luka will be held 9-11am on Friday March 7th in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls.  A funeral service will be celebrated at the conclusion of the visitation.  Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery 359 Dagget Ave. Pawtucket.
