Lillian N. Carvalho, a lifelong resident of Pawtucket passed away peacefully on the morning of October 13, 2022 at Highland Manor in Providence. Mrs. Carvalho was the wife of the late Americo “Mac” Carvalho.
Lillian was born on August 24, 1924 in Pawtucket, daughter of the late Goncalo and Ludovina Nobrega. She was a devoted parishioner of the Church of Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus on Newport Ave. in Pawtucket. For 40 years, Mrs. Carvalho worked as a secretary for the Internal Revenue Service however her greatest work she accomplished was as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Lillian had a talent for gardening and loved flowers. A true homemaker, she loved to cook and bake for her family and friends.
Mrs. Carvalho is survived by her daughter Christine Gillooly of West Warwick and reunited with her daughter the late Nancy Noddings. She was a loved grandmother of 6 grandchildren and a proud great grandmother 13 great grandchildren. Lillian was the sister of Flora Bowman of Flemington, NJ and the late; Mario Nobrega and Mary Sousa. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and her son-in-law Al Noddings.
Visiting Hours will be held on Friday October 21st from 5-8pm in The Coelho Home 151 Cross Street Central Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday October 22nd in the Church of Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus 358 Newport Ave. Pawtucket. Interment will follow in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery in Pawtucket.
