It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Katherine Ann Fletcher, 92, of Pawtucket, RI. Katherine passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, January 4, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph L. Fletcher, Sr. for 65 years.
Born March 9, 1928 in Newport, Rhode Island, Katherine was the daughter of the late Thomas McGloin of Providence and the late Christine (Beaton) McGloin of Pawtucket, Rhode Island.Katherine had one brother, Thomas and one sister, Theresa; both of whom predeceased her.
Katherine worked in several banks in Providence as a bookkeeper. In addition, she performed various administrative functions, most notably at Sears Service Center from which she retired after 19 years.
Katherine was a parishioner of the former St. Leo’s Church in Pawtucket, now St. John Paul II. She was very active in the church community, attending rallies and bible studies, was a prominent member of the “Spirited Seniors”, and a popular volunteer in the church’s food pantry.
She and Ralph enjoyed traveling together with friends on various trips and enjoyed many social outings, such as dancing, bowling, and dining. She was the gracious hostess of many family dinners and cookouts.
She will forever be cherished by her daughter Ann Fletcher of Attleboro, MA and her husband, Barry Myers, her youngest daughter Christine (Fletcher) Leca of Pawtucket, RI, as well as her son, Ralph L. Fletcher, Jr. also of Pawtucket. She leaves behind a granddaughter, Elissa Leca and great-granddaughter, Lila Leca, both of Pawtucket.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held TUESDAY, January 19, 2021 at St. John Paul II, formerly St. Cecilia's Church, in Pawtucket, RI at 10:00 AM followed by interment at the VA Cemetery of RI in Exeter, RI. A celebration of Katherine’s life will be planned for some time in the future.
