Karen Sandrowski Obituary

Karen A. (Henson) Sandrowski, lifelong Pawtucket passed away peacefully on the morning of September 5, 2025 at Pawtucket Falls Health Center.  Ms. Sandrowski was the beloved mother Tracey Sandrowski and the late Jay Douglas Sandrowski. 

Born on April 23, 1954, in Providence, Karen was the daughter of the late Monica (Ryan) and John Henson.  The family settled in Pawtucket when Karen was a baby, and she called the city home all her life.  While a student at Shea High School, Karen became pregnant at the age of 16 with whom would be her beloved son Jay and left school to take on the full-time role as a Mom and homemaker, a role that in which she was a natural. 

Ms. Sandrowski had a strong faith in God and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, something that she instilled in her children and grandchildren.  She loved her family with every fiber of her being.  A quiet woman, Karen spoke with brutal honest, you knew where you stood with her.  A music lover, some of her favorites included Issac Hayes and Aretha Franklin.  She loved having a good time and the occasional adult beverages as long as she was surrounded by the people she loved and care about most.  Karen A. Sandrowski will be loved and missed eternally.

In addition to her daughter Tracey Sandrowski of Pawtucket, Karen leaves behind her grandchildren; Sophia Poilion and Althea Poilion.  She is also survived by her siblings Mike Henson of Florida, Kerri Henson of Pawtucket, Gail Pardi of Pawtucket and Joanne Ryan of Pawtucket.  In addition to her late parents and her late son, Ms. Sandrowski is reunited with her brothers, the late Patrick Henson, Jack Henson, Gary Henson and her sister the late Judy Henson. 

Following private cremation, Karen will be laid to rest in her family’s plot in St. Ann’s Cemetery at a later date.  Arrangements are under the care of the Charles Coelho Funeral of Central Falls.
