Juan Jose Montenegro

Juan Jose Montenegro of Providence passed away at the age of 77.  He was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala on March 19, 1948, son of the late Francisco Rosales and Silvestra Montenegro Gatica. 

Juan immigrated to the United States in April of 1979.  He settled in Queens, New York City and worked for several years as an auto mechanic.  While working to provide for his family and earning his keep, Mr. Montenegro saved up enough money to purchase his own auto dealership.  Automobiles were a passion for Juan, and he was a talented auto mechanic and car salesman.  For several years he owned a successful dealership in Brentwood on Long Island, NY. 

Mrs. Montenegro enjoyed life and enjoyed traveling.  He would often go back to Guatemala to visit family and enjoy his home which he built.  Juan was a truly happy man and well-respected man. 

Juan Jose Montenegro is survived by his son Edgar Montenegro of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, his daughter, Jacqueline Bazzi of Effort, Pennsylvania.  He was a proud grandfather of 8 and a great grandfather of 2.  Juan is reunited with his 3 late siblings.

All services in Rhode Island will be private.  Formal funeral services and burial will be held in Guatemala.  Arrangements under the care of the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls, RI.
