Jose Colon of Pawtucket passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at Philip Hulitar Hope Hospice Center in Providence. Mr. Colon was 85 years old. He was the devoted husband of Carmen Algarino.
Jose was born in Loiza, Puerto Rico on September 21, 1940, son of the late Felix Colon and Rosalia Concepcion. He called Rhode Island in 1986, settling in Pawtucket. Mr. Colon worked as a machine operator for Regal Components in Providence for several years.
Mr. Colon enjoyed people and was a naturally outgoing and happy man. He had a great sense of humor and love traveling, especially going back to Puerto Rico to visit. Food brought joy to Jose, especially his rice and beans and his favorite, Chinese Food. Above all, Mr. Colon’s commitment to his family was second to none. He was a devoted husband and father as well as a loving grandfather and great grandfather.
Visiting Hours to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held from 2-5pm on Friday December 19th in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls, RI 02863. The family respectfully requests that flowers are omitted.
