Jonathan Fernandez 17, of Johnston passed away at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence on September 1, 2025. He was the cherished son of Nelbia Rosa Melo Pabon and Jose Manuel Fernandez.
Jonathan was born on May 14, 2008, at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital. He was an incredibly happy child who was always laughing and smiling. Jonathan loved music and being around other kids.
At the age of 6, Jonathan began to experience challenges with his health. Despite this, he refused to backdown and never stopped fighting. Throughout his battles he exhibited the attributes of a warrior and proved himself as a true champion, inspiring his family and friends. Jonathan brought strength and joy to anyone who was around him. Although his battle has ended, his light will continue to shine in our hearts and burn brighter than any star in the night’s sky.
In addition to his loving parents, Jonathan is survived by his brother Joseph Fernandez and his sister Jada Fernadez of Johnston. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Rosario Miller and Sixta Tulia. Jonathan is also survived by many relatives and friends.
Visiting Hours to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held on Thursday September 11th from 9-11am in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls. A funeral service will begin at 11am in the funeral home. Procession to Pocasset Cemetery on Dyer Ave. in Cranston for committal will follow.

Jonathan nació el 14 de mayo de 2008 en Pawtucket Memorial Hospital. Era un niño increíblemente feliz que siempre estaba riendo y sonriendo. A Jonathan le encantaba la música y estar rodeado de otros niños.
A la edad de 6 años, Jonathan comenzó a experimentar desafíos con su salud. A pesar de esto, se negó a retroceder y nunca dejó de luchar. A lo largo de sus batallas exhibió los atributos de un guerrero y demostró ser un verdadero campeón, inspirando a su familia y amigos. Además de su amorosos padres, a Jonathan le sobreviven su hermano Joseph Fernández y su hermana Jada Fernández de Johnston. También le sobreviven su abuelas, Rosario Miller y Sixta Tulia. A Jonathan también le sobreviven muchos familiares y amigos.
El horario de visita, al que los familiares y amigos están cordialmente invitados a asistir, se llevará a cabo el jueves 11 de septiembre de 9 a 11 a.m. en la funeraria Charles Coelho, 151 Cross St., Central Falls.
