Joao Angel Goncalves, Jr.

Joao Angel Goncalves, Jr. of Central Falls passed away suddenly on April 20, 2023 at The Miriam Hospital in Providence.  Joao was 40 years old and was the beloved husband of Shayna Tott-Miller with whom he shared 3 beautiful daughters.

Mr. Goncalves was born on July 19, 1982 in Pawtucket to his parents; Lisa May Mejia and Joao A. Goncalves, Sr..  He was a graduate of William M. Davies, Jr. High School in Lincoln.  Joao worked as an associate of the Nantucket Sink Company and for Key Container.  He had an amazing collection of sport cards and toy memorabilia.  Joao was an avid fan of all New York sport teams and especially loved basketball. 

Some of Joao’s other passions included his sneaker collection, cooking and going to the beach and enjoying the ocean.  Mr. Goncalves was a talented tattoo artist however, his greatest talent of all was being a Dad…something that he was EXCEPTIONAL at being.

In addition to his wife Shayna and his parents, Joao is survived by his beloved daughters; Sariah Epiphany Goncalves, Remedy Love Goncalves and Jaeleena April Goncalves.  He leaves behind his step-father Ezquiel Mejia, Sr.  Joao was the brother of Antonio Goncalves, Jermias Mejia, Ezquiel Mejia, Jr. and Isaias Mejia.  He was the grandson of Ana Cardoso, Beatrice Cardoso, Antonio Cardoso and is reunited with his grandfather the late Jerry D. Manuel, Sr. and his step-grandfather the late Manuel Cardoso, Jr.  Joao is survived by several aunts and uncles and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting Hours will be held from 5-8pm on Wednesday April 26th in The Coelho Home 151 Cross St. in Central Falls.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am in St. Joseph’s Polish Catholic Church 391 High St in Central Falls.  Interment will follow in Mount Saint Mary’s Cemetery 661 Prospect St. in Pawtucket.
