Obituary
Joan E. Sylvester, 88 of Cross Street Central Falls, passed away peacefully at her home last Sunday. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Joseph Sylvester Jr. Joan was born in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of the late Phillip and Julia (Kerwin) Kruithoff. She moved to Rhode Island 63 years ago and settled in Central Falls.
She had been employed at the former Union Wading Company of Pawtucket for more than 20 years and was a hard worker and dedicated employee. She loved horses and really enjoyed going out cruising in her Taurus wagon loved shopping and also loved taking care of everyone's child, and never said no. She was the last of 16 children. Joan will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother. She missed her husband every day and now is reunited with him.
She is survived by 5 daughters, Denise M Huard, her late husband Arthur "Chuck" of Lincoln, Annette M. Munson and her husband Jack of Rehoboth, Joan Panichas and her husband James of Pawtucket, Cindy L. and Patricia A Sylvester both of Central Falls; 5 sons, Roland A. Sylvester and his late spouse Sandy of No. Providence, Robert J. Sylvester and his wife Jane of No. Carolina, Roger J. Sylvester of Central Falls , Frederick J. Sylvester and his wife Aline of Chepachet and Mark A. Sylvester and his wife Tracey also of Chepachet. She was the mother of the late Joseph M. and Arthur J. Sylvester III and Grandmother of the late Scott Sylvester.
She was the Grandmother of 16 and Great Grandmother of 17 and several nieces and nephews.
It has been requested, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzhiemers Association or the Cystic Fibrosis Association
Family and relatives are privately invited to visit on Thursday, from 2 until 4 PM, with a Prayer Service at 4 PM in the Coelho Home, 151 Cross Street Central Falls. At Joan's request, there will be cremation and she will be joined with her late husband at Notre Dame Cemetery,
