Janet Y. (Gauthier) Brizard

Janet Y. (Gauthier) Brizard lifelong of Woonsocket passed away peacefully at her home in the late evening of October 4, 2022.  Mrs. Brizard was 75 years old.  Born on December 3, 1946 in Woonsocket, Janet was the daughter of the late Lucien Gauthier and Janet (Paulhus) Desrosier. 

For several years, Janet worked in a nursing home and later for many years, in the cleaning field.  Her great joy came from her work as a homemaker, raising her family. 

Janet is survived by her three daughters; Michelle Garst and her husband Paul of Tennessee, Jennifer Mainville and her husband Bob of Florida and Danielle Mandeville of Connecticut.  She was the proud grandmother of Kara Nichols, Aaron Garst, Samantha Cosenza, Hayley Hardesty and Trevin Russ.  Mrs. Brizard was the great grandmother of Nevaeh Nichols, Myleigh Nichols, Jaidalee Suber, D’Shun Hardesty, Jr. and Julian Cosenza. 

The family extends a special thanks to Caregivers of RI and especially to her work/friend Christine Picard for her unwavering care. 

In accordance to Janet’s wishes, there will be no formal services held.  Private Cremation will take place in Western Hills Crematory of Cranston.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of The Coelho Home – Funeral Directors 151 Cross St. Central Falls, RI.  Entombment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
