Jamie Gilbert Obituary

Jaime J. Gilbert, 23, of Woonsocket, passed away at RI Hospital in Providence on December 7th, as the result of injuries sustained after being hit by a motor vehicle while in his wheelchair, crossing a street in a crosswalk. He was the son of Michelle L. Scott and Jamie Silveira. Jamie was a graduate of Woonsocket High High School, class of 2016. He has suffered from disabilities since early childhood. Jamie loved the outdoors, enjoyed going to the park, enjoyed attending Indian Pow Wows in Woonsocket and frequently visited the local library.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his Maternal Grandmother Jeanne (Mulberry) Gilbert of Pawtucket, a brother Jason Luzniak, three sisters, Destiny and Amber Silveira both of Florida and Eliza Botelho of Cumberland. He also leaves his devoted caregiver, Justine Rezendes who was also injured in the incident, and a multitude of friends. Jaime will be sadly missed by many people for his unforgetable smile. 

 

Calling Hours will be THURSDAY evening, 5 until 8 PM in the Coelho Home, Central Falls. His Funeral will be held Friday morning at 9 AM from the Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM  In Holy Family Church (formerly St. Joseph's church) Walcott Street Pawtucket. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket.
