Irene V. Plamondon

Irene V. Plamondon of Attleboro, MA, formerly of Central Falls passed away suddenly at her home on March 22, 2026, at the age of 93.  She was born in Pawtucket on February 28, 1933, daughter of the late Emma (Camire) and Oscar Plamondon.

Irene went to school up until the age of 16, putting her education aside to work and support the family.  She made her career as a seamstress with Health Tex and was a lifelong, rabid Boston Red Sox fan.  “Auntie I”, as all her nieces and nephews called her was a centerpiece to the family.  She was that favorite aunt that spoiled her nieces and nephews like they were her own kids but, with the snap of a finger or a quick word, could whip those beloved nieces and nephews into shape.  She enjoyed Broadway shows and plays.

Irene was a well-liked person.  She was a member of several bowling teams through the years and just recently stopped skiing due to an injury.  Two of her favorite routines included Monday night “Spaghetti Night” at her brother Robert’s house and her weekly card games with the girls. 

Irene Viola Plamondon is survived by her brother, Robert Plamondon of Woonsocket and many beloved nieces and nephews, including her Goddaughter, Mary.  In addition to her late parents, Oscar and Emma, Irene is reunited with her siblings; the late, Raymond Plamondon, Rita Mills, Doris Shea, Norman Plamondon, Therry Malloy, Gerard Plamondon, Roland Plamondon, Claire Terrell and Pauline Wood. 

Visiting Hours to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held from 4-8pm on Friday March 27th in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. in Central Falls. A Funeral will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday March 28th in the funeral home.  Committal Prayers will follow in the Chapel of Notre Dame Cemetery 359 Dagget Ave. in Pawtucket.
