Obituary
Idaira Morales 68 of Pawtucket passed away on May 8, 2023 at The Miriam Hospital in Providence. Idaira was the beloved wife of Felix Claudio of Pawtucket.
Born on April 13, 1955 in Aquas Buenas, Puerto Rico, Idaira was the daughter of Lydia Merces and Adolfo Aponte. She was a resident of Rhode Island since the age of 22. Ms. Morales enjoyed watching television and gathering with family for cookouts. Idaira loved children and was happy to volunteer to babysit. She was especially close to her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Felix, Idaira is survived by her loving children; Vilma Cartagena of Pawtucket, Lydia Sotomayor of Puerto Rico, Daisy Avillas of Pawtucket, Alexander Aponte of San Diego, CA and Destiny Aponte of Pawtucket. She was the proud grandmother of John, Laura, Jose, Brian, Harmony, Crystal and Adrian. Ms. Morales was the beloved sister of Carlos Aponte of Puerto Rico, Zaida Aponte of Providence, Mildred Aponte of Pawtucket, Yvette Perez of Florida, Jose Perez of Bronx, NYC and the late Jose Manuel Aponte.
Private Cremation will take place at Western Hills Crematory in Cranston. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of The Coelho Home of Central Falls.
