Humberto Narvaez Castaño, 75, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Inpatient Center of Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, in Providence after an illness. He was the husband of Maritza Narvaez.
He was born in Neira, Colombia, a son of the late Pascual DeJesus Narvaez and Rosa Maria Castaño. He has lived in Rhode Island for the last 25 years. Before he migrated to the U.S. he was employed in law enforcement in Colombia for several years before retiring. He had also been employed here, in the Security industry and also worked other jobs in construction and general maintenance. Humberto enjoyed playing cards, and also enjoyed dominos. He was an avid music fan of old Colombian music. But most of all, he enjoyed being with his family. He was a simple, humble, family man, whom everyone loved.
Besides his wife, he leaves five daughters, Carmen and Leandra Narvaez of Central Falls, Monica Osorio and Jacqueline Narvaez both of Pawtucket and Beatriz Narvaez of Colombia. He also leaves two brothers, Gonzaga and Jair Narvaez both in Colombia; five sisters, Gilma, Rubelia, Maria Teresa, Dora Ines Narvaez and Maria Elena Diaz all of Central Falls. He was the cherished Grandfather of 12.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be held TUESDAY at 9:30 AM in Holy Spirit Parish Church, Dexter Street, Central Falls. Due to the current pandemic, there will be NO Calling Hours.
