Gloria Medina, 57, of Central Falls passed away at home on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Medellin, Colombia she was the loved daughter of the late Luis Medina and Teresa Rendon.
Gloria came to the United States to follow her sister and best friend, Miriam, in 1994. She was an energetic woman who showed her love for her homeland, family and friends through traditional Colombian meals, like Paella, she would hold large parties and cookouts at her home to showcase her culinary prowess. When she was not cooking these meals, she was found by the slot machines at Twin River. She was as lucky as they come, often winning big, keeping her at the casino for hours on end. She married Rafael Arteaga in December 2013, together they raised two children. Her popularity was credited towards her sarcastic charisma, her ability to turn a negative situation into a positive one was incredible, this innate ability drew people in to her... her laugh was infectious and her positivity was intoxicating. Gloria was a member of the St. Patrick's Church Parish, she proudly followed Him her whole life. She worked with Leedon Webbing as a line worker for many years before falling sick.
Gloria is loved and treasured by her loving family who survive her; her daughter, Nicole Medina; her son, Matheo Arteaga; her sisters, Miriam Medina of Central Falls, Elena Medina of Colombia; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
