Francisco Ferreira Obituary

Francisco “Chico” Ferreira, 58, of Pawtucket, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center.
Francisco was the devoted husband of the late Patricia Ferreira, with whom he shared a lifelong love and commitment since their high school years.
Born on August 15, 1967, on the island of Madeira, Portugal, Francisco immigrated to the United States with his family as a young boy. He spent the rest of his life in Pawtucket, where he built a life centered on hard work, family, and dedication. He was employed as a machinist and was known for his strong work ethic and quiet strength.
Above all, Francisco was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving children, Andrew Ferreira, Ashley Ferreira, and Brooke Ferreira and her fiancé Jason Sorrenti, all of Pawtucket; and his cherished grandchildren, Avery Wood and Grayson Sorrenti.
He was the beloved son of Armando Ferreira and the late Maria Teresa Ferreira of Pawtucket. He is also survived by his siblings: Ana Paula Bibeault and her husband David of Seekonk; Elisabete Abreu of Pawtucket; and Paul Ferreira and his wife Shelia of Pawtucket; as well as his sister-in-law, Melissa Everton of North Providence. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews who will remember him fondly.

A Memorial Service to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held on Saturday April 25, 2026, at 3pm in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St Central Falls, RI.

Chico was a family man, through and through. For many years he, his late wife, and late in-laws would host pool parties that defined the summertime. He loved hosting his family and friends. If they weren’t in the pool then they were probably shooting pool in the garage. Classic rock playing through the speakers, laughing, telling stories. Chico was famous for his jokes. You always knew you’d hear a new one the next time you saw him. His laugh was infectious, and one you’d never forget. It’d also be hard to mention him without mentioning his love for Ford…specifically the Mustang. Chico had a few different Mustang’s through the years, and he loved taking his children, nieces, and nephews for a ride in them. If it wasn’t the full sized cars, you always knew he had a remote control car ready to bring out at the next family party. Letting everyone have a turn and bringing so much laughter and joy to the family in sharing that moment. Because that’s what he did. He brought joy, warmth, and no matter what you were doing with him you always felt safe. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family. He treated his nieces and nephews like his own children, and gave everyone around him memories that will last a lifetime. That’s how he will be remembered. The “cool uncle”. The loving husband, father, and son. The man loved by so many. In the hearts of his family, forever.
