Francisco Avelar

Francisco Avelar of Pawtucket and formerly of Cranston died following a period of declining health on May 19, 2024 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence.  Mr. Avelar was 61 years old.  He was the husband of Yuderkis Avelar.

Mr. Avelar was born in Flores Island, Portugal on June 4, 1962.  He was the son of Maria Melo and Jeoa Avelar.  Prior to living in Rhode Island, Francisco lived in London, Ontario, Canada.  In his youth he enjoyed playing hockey and swimming in his pool.  He loved music and performed as a DJ for many years at weddings.  Mr. Avelar was a talented musician, as he had a passion for the piano.  Francisco was extremely intelligent and loved traveling.  Most important, he was a great Dad and an affectionate husband. 

In addition to his wife Fransisco is survived by his children; Galen Avelar of Pawtucket, Sean Avelar and Ashley Avelar both of North Providence.  He also leaves behind a brother as well as many relatives and friends.

In accordance with Francisco’s wishes, cremation will take place.  A memorial service will take place 5-7pm on Thursday June 27th in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home.
