Frances Ann (Ziegel) Raposo

Frances Ann (Ziegel) Raposo 72 of Johnston, formerly of E. Providence and Fall River, Massachusetts passed away at RI Hospital in Providence on December 30, 2025.  She was the beloved wife of James Raposo, Jr. with whom she shared 49 years of marriage.

Frances was born in Providence on March 11, 1953, daughter of the late Gloria (Mainor) and Paul Ziegel.  She was raised and educated in Providence.  Frances attended St. Michael’s Catholic High school for a year before she transferred and later graduated from Central High School in Providence.  Following her graduation, Frances earned her professional license in hairdressing and worked in the beauty profession for several years.  Mrs. Raposo later worked as a jewelry filler for P&B and Alice & Rees.

Mrs. Raposo was a kindhearted person who brought a settling calmness to her home and to others when she was in their presence.  She was a dedicated mom to her dog and cat and had a true love for all animals. 

In accordance with Mrs. Raposo’s wishes, private cremation will be followed by a graveside memorial service in North Burial Ground in Providence at a later date.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls, RI.
