Fernando Javier Garcia, 58 of Woonsocket, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Margaro Garcia and Eduarda Rodriguez. He was the beloved husband of Rebecca Vega where together they lived in Rhode Island several years.
He had been employed as a truck driver for Waste Mangement Co. as well as BFI Waste Co. for several years. Fernando graduated from a trade school in Puerto Rioco where he pursued becoming an electrician. He was a loving husband, great Dad, a wonderful Grandfather, loved BBQ cooking, enjoyed the beach, liked long rides in the car, trips to New York City, and he especially loved his native Puerto Rico.
In addition to his wife, Fernando Javier Garcia is also survived by his loving children; Jose Alicea, Jennifer Alicea, Anthony Alicea, Hector Garcia, Tatiana Vega, Fernando Vega and Alex Vega. Fernando is reunited with his son; the late Adonis Xavier Vega. He was the proud grandfather of Aryani, Ezra, Caliyana, Prince, Rebecca, Mya, Mia, Aliyaah, Anthony "Big Ant", Anthony "Little Ant", Bella and Cataleya. Fernando was the great grandfather of Danny. Mr. Garcia leave behind his siblings; Lidu Garcia, Marebel Garcia, Carlos Garcia, Ito Garcia, Lucy Garcia and Mita Garcia.
Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday April 16th from 4 until 8 PM in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home, 151 Cross Street Central Falls. A Funeral Prayer Service will be held Wednesday April 17th at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery on the Woonsocket/No. Smithfield line.
