Emilio Rivera, 76, of Providence, passed away at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence after a brief illness. He was the husband of Gilma Tovar. He was born in Gualan, Zacapa, Guatemala, a son of the late Emilio Rivera and Imelda Galzez. He has lived in Providence several years and had been a CDL truck driver for Cumberland Farms for the last 12 years, prior to his illness.
Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Claudia Rivera of Providence and Judith N. Garcia Rivera of Guatemala; two sons, Juan Jose Rivera of Malden, MA and Oscar Rivera of Providence and 8 Grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers and five sisters in Guatemala.
A Funeral Service will be held WEDNESDAY at 10 AM in St. Teresa's Church, Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will follow at North Burial Ground, Providence.
