Elvin Guillermo Toro Paredes

Elvin Guillermo Toro Paredes, 58 of Cumberland passed away at The Miriam Hospital in Providence on April 14, 2026.  He was the beloved husband of Maria Toro Cueto. 

Elvin was born in La Romana, Dominican Republic on December 28, 1967, son of the late Olivia Paredes and Guillermo Toro.  Upon immigrating to the United States, Mr. Toro spent the formative years of his life being raised and educated in Passaic, New Jersey.  Elvin worked for “Big Fitness” as a machinist, fixing equipment and later earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues, eventually being named manager.  Mr. Toro was a avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Mr. Toro was a people-person who remained on top of tasks and possessed a natural pragmatic and thoughtful personality.  He battled many health issues but never changed in the face of adversity.  Elvin remained strong fighter and a fighter who refused to stop advocating for himself and went through life and met death on his own terms. 

In addition to his beloved wife Maria Toro Cueto, Mr. Toro is survived by his sons, Elvin Calvin Reyes, Elvin John Toro, Elvin Guillermo Toro and Elvin Brandon Toro. He was the proud grandfather of Aiden Toro, Ethan Toro, Caleb Toro and Nyla Reyes.  He is survived by his sisters Yanari Toro and Wilma Toro and reunited with his sister, the late Carmen Jimenez.  Elvin was the beloved uncle of Chanty Lopes Toro.

Calling Hours to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held from 9-11am on Monday April 20th in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls, RI.  A funeral service will be celebrated at 11am in the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery 200 Armistice Blvd in Pawtucket.

Elvin Guillermo Toro Paredes, de 58 años, de Cumberland, falleció en el Hospital Miriam de Providence el 14 de abril de 2026.  Fue el querido esposo de María Toro Cueto. 

Elvin nació en La Romana, República Dominicana, el 28 de diciembre de 1967, hijo de las fallecidas Olivia Paredes y Guillermo Toro.  Al emigrar a Estados Unidos, el Sr. Toro pasó los años formativos de su vida siendo criado y educado en Passaic, Nueva Jersey.  Elvin trabajó para "Big Fitness" como maquinista, reparando equipos y más tarde ganó el respeto y la admiración de sus colegas, llegando a ser nombrado gerente.  El señor Toro era un gran aficionado de los Boston Red Sox.

El Sr. Toro era una persona sociable que se mantenía al día con las tareas y poseía una personalidad pragmática y reflexiva natural.  Luchó contra muchos problemas de salud, pero nunca cambió ante la adversidad.  Elvin siguió siendo un luchador fuerte y un luchador que se negó a dejar de defenderse y pasó la vida y encontró la muerte en sus propios términos. 

Además de su querida esposa Maria Toro Cueto, el señor Toro deja como sobrevivientes a sus hijos, Elvin Calvin Reyes, Elvin John Toro, Elvin Guillermo Toro y Elvin Brandon Toro. Fue el orgulloso abuelo de Aiden Toro, Ethan Toro, Caleb Toro y Nyla Reyes.  Le sobreviven sus hermanas Yanari Toro y Wilma Toro, y se reunió con su hermana, la difunta Carmen Jiménez.  Elvin era el querido tío de Chanty Lopes Toro.

Las horas de visita, a las que familiares y amigos están cordialmente invitados, se celebrarán de 9 a 11 de la mañana el lunes 20 de abril en la funeraria Charles Coelho, 151 Cross St. Central Falls, RI.  Se celebrará un servicio funerario a las 11:00 en la funeraria.  El entierro tendrá lugar después en el cementerio Walnut Hill, 200 Armistice Blvd, en Pawtucket.
