Debra Joan “Deby” Charland of Woonsocket for the past 40 years, formerly of Central Falls passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was 70 years old. Deby is survived by her loving husband James J. Hill.
Debra was born on March 3, 1955, in Central Falls, daughter of the late Charles E. and Betty J. (Conley) Charland. She was a graduate of Central Falls High School. Following her graduation Debra worked in a manufacturing mill before becoming a licensed CNA and applying her skills, caring for the elderly. Ms. Charland loved music, cooking and animals. Deby was a true family woman; her heart belonged to her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband James, Debra is survived by her two daughters, Donna Charland of Woonsocket, Maria (Charland) Herb and her husband Erik of North Smithfield, 3 grandchildren, Deion Charland, Aiden Charland and Erik “EJ” Herb. Beloved great grandmother of Aniyah Charland. Also survived by her niece Tara Morin, nephew Max Morin, 6 great nieces and 5 great nephews. Preceded in death by her sister the late Patricia Morin and her brother the late Edward Charland.
In accordance with the family’s wishes all services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls.
