Cesar Yanez, a resident of Cumberland, passed away on June 9, 2025, at Pawtucket Falls Nursing Home at the age of 86. He was the husband of the late Eva Aguilar.
Cesar was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala on October 5, 1938, and was the son of the late Elena and Victor Yanez. Mr. Yanez immigrated to the United States in 1990, settling in Pawtucket and later moving to Cumberland. He worked for many years with New England Lighting Supply.
Mr. Yanez was a devout Catholic and a committed communicant of St. John the Baptist Parish in Pawtucket for several years. Both he and his late wife Eva served the parish as Eucharistic Ministers for several years at St. John’s.
Cesar was an accomplished athlete and competed in several marathons. He also enjoyed bicycle riding, tennis, ping pong and music. Above although, Mr. Yanez was a true gentleman and a family man. He led my example and was his children’s hero. Cesar was the true definition of a fighter.
Mr. Yanez is reunited with his beloved wife the late Eva Aguilar who passed away in 2016. He was the proud and adored father of Blanca Londono and her husband Guillermo of Pawtucket, Olga Chavarriga and Pawtucket, Edgar Yanez of Guatemala, Ana Yanez of Cumberland, Luis F. Yanez of Guatemala and the late Julio Yanez. Cesar was blessed with many grandchildren and enjoyed being a great grandfather of 3 beautiful great grandchildren.
Visiting Hours to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held Thursday June 12th from 6-8pm in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St in Central Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday June 13th at 10am in St. John the Baptist Church 69 Quincy Ave. in Pawtucket. Burial will be held on Monday June 16th at 10am in St. Joseph’s Cemetery 900 Mendon Rd. in Cumberland.
