Carmen S. Diaz

Carmen S. Diaz of Pawtucket passed away on May 24, 2026 at RI Hospital.  She was 67 years old.  Carmen was the beloved wife of Jorge Gonzalez for 20 amazing years. 

Camren was born in April 8, 1959 in Guayama, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Blas Feliz Diaz and Engracia Diaz.  A strong faith and a true love for God, Carmen was a devout Christian.  She worked in both child daycare and with the elderly for several years.  Ms. Diaz was a happy woman and was rarely seen without a big smile on her face.  Her sense of humor and big heart,  were just a few of her greatest attributes, people loved to be around her.

Some of her enjoyments included accompanying her husband Jorge to junkyards to recover material and scrap for various projects.  Carmen loved shopping and did so as much as possible, sharing several ventures with her sisters.  She also loved going out to eat and enjoying homecooked meals with the people she loved most.  Carmen was a great person; she was a fantastic mother, a committed daughter, a proud grandmother, a loving sister and in the words of her husband Jorge, “the greatest wife a man could ever be blessed with.” Carmen S. Diaz was an amazing woman.

In addition to her husband Jorge Gonzalez, Carmen is survived by her children, Angel D. Vazquez and Somayra Rivera.  She was the beloved sister of Justina Diaz, Jose Diaz, Horaracio Diaz, Sandra Diaz and Antonia Diaz.  In additional to her parents, Camren is reunited with her 6 late siblings. 

Visiting Hours to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held on Wednesday May 27th from 7-9pm in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls, RI.  Carmen’s funeral will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday May 28th in the funeral home.  Interment will follow in North Burial Ground, 5 Branch Ave. in Providence. 

Carmen S. Díaz, de Pawtucket, falleció el 24 de mayo de 2026 en el Hospital de Rhode Island.  Tenía 67 años.  Carmen fue la querida esposa de Jorge González durante 20 años increíbles. 

Camren nació el 8 de abril de 1959 en Guayama, Puerto Rico, hija de los fallecidos Blas Feliz Díaz y Engracia Díaz.  Con una fe fuerte y un verdadero amor por Dios, Carmen era una cristiana devota.  Trabajó durante varios años tanto en guarderías infantiles como con personas mayores.  La señora Díaz era una mujer feliz y rara vez se la veía sin una gran sonrisa en el rostro.  Su sentido del humor y su gran corazón eran solo algunas de sus mayores cualidades, a la gente le encantaba estar con ella.

Algunos de sus disfrutes incluían acompañar a su marido Jorge a desguaces para recuperar material y chatarra para diversos proyectos.  A Carmen le encantaba ir de compras y lo hacía tanto como podía, compartiendo varias aventuras con sus hermanas.  También le encantaba salir a comer y disfrutar de comidas caseras con las personas que más quería.  Carmen era una gran persona; fue una madre fantástica, una hija comprometida, una abuela orgullosa, una hermana cariñosa y, en palabras de su marido Jorge, "la mejor esposa con la que un hombre podría haber sido bendecido." Carmen S. Diaz fue una mujer increíble.

Además de su marido Jorge González, Carmen deja en vida a sus hijos, Angel D. Vázquez y Somayra Rivera.  Era la querida hermana de Justina Díaz, José Díaz, Horaracio Díaz, Sandra Díaz y Antonia Díaz.  Además de sus padres, Camren se reencuentra con sus seis hermanos fallecidos. 

Las horas de visita, a las que familiares y amigos están cordialmente invitados, se celebrarán el miércoles 27 de mayo de 19:00 a 21:00 horas en la funeraria Charles Coelho, 151 Cross St. Central Falls, RI.  El funeral de Carmen se celebrará a las 10:00 del jueves 28 de mayo en la funeraria.  El entierro tendrá lugar en North Burial Ground, 5 Branch Ave. en Providence.
