Carl Erick Olson

Carl Erick Olson of Providence passed away on the evening of June 27, 2022 at the Grand View Nursing Home in Cumberland.  He was born on May 17, 1926 in Chicago Illinois and was the son of the late Erick and Hilma (Erickson) Olsen.

Upon graduating from high school, Carl entered the United States Army Air Corps (now known as the United States Air Force) during World War II.  He was a lover of books and made his living in book sales for several years.  Carl was a forward thinker and he loved connecting with people.  Mr. Olson enjoyed people, history and politics.  He was passionate with regards to his high meta physical interests and had a faith in God although he did not practice a formal religion.  Carl was a talented and ALMOST scratch golfer, am incredible chess player and an award winning weight lifter.

Carl is be sorely missed - our lively conversations, his very interesting world view, and his rich love for God and man.

Carl is survived by his longtime friend and companion Carol Carcieri of Pawtucket.  He was the father of the late Glen Olson and Peggy Olson. 

Funeral Service information will be published when complete.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of The Coelho Home of Central Falls.
