Blanca Oliva Cardenas

Blanca Oliva Cardenas, born on March 4, 1943, in Medellín, Colombia, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. In 1987, she immigrated to Central Falls, Rhode Island, where she built a life rooted in faith, hard work, and love for her family.

Blanca dedicated her life to farming and manufacturing and was a devoted member of Holy Spirit Parish, serving as a Eucharistic Minister. Her joyful spirit shone brightly through her love of traveling, swimming, dancing, and playing games like gin and dominoes. Above all, she was a woman of deep faith and unwavering love for her family, whom she prayed for endlessly.

Blanca is survived by her five children: Gladys Bedoya, Martha Castillo, Luz Montoya, Juan Bedoya, and Angela Bruno; nine grandchildren: Tiffany, Christian, Cindy, Nayin, Kirstie, Julio César, Mateo, Giuliana, and Sebastian; and eight great-grandchildren. She also has nine beloved siblings and many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Her family finds comfort knowing she is now in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, fulfilling her deepest desire and final words. Blanca’s love, strength, and faith will forever be cherished by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday January 27th at 9:30am in Holy Spirit Parish 1030 Dexter St. in Central Falls.  Interment will be held at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery in Pawtucket.

Blanca Oliva Cardenas, nacida el 4 de marzo de 1943 en Medellín, Colombia, partió en paz rodeada de sus seres queridos. En 1987 emigró a Central Falls, Rhode Island, donde construyó una vida basada en la fe, el trabajo arduo y el amor por su familia.

Blanca dedicó su vida a la agricultura y la manufactura, y fue una fiel miembro de la parroquia Holy Spirit, donde sirvió como Ministra de la Eucaristía. Su espíritu alegre brilló a través de su amor por viajar, nadar, bailar y jugar juegos como el gin y el dominó. Sobre todo, fue una mujer de fe profunda y amor inquebrantable por su familia, por quienes siempre oraba con devoción.

Blanca deja un legado de amor en sus cinco hijos: Gladys Bedoya, Martha Castillo, Luz Montoya, Juan Bedoya y Angela Bruno; nueve nietos: Tiffany, Christian, Cindy, Nayin, Kirstie, Julio César, Mateo, Giuliana y Sebastian; y ocho bisnietos. También tiene nueve queridos hermanos y a muchos sobrinos y sobrinas, quienes ocuparon un lugar especial en su corazón.

Su familia encuentra consuelo sabiendo que ahora está en la presencia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, cumpliendo su más profundo deseo y sus últimas palabras. El amor, la fortaleza y la fe de Blanca serán recordados y atesorados por todos los que la conocieron.

Una Misa de Entierro Cristiano se llevará a cabo el lunes 27 de enero a las 9:30 a.m. en la Parroquia del Espíritu Santo, 1030 Dexter St. en Central Falls.  El entierro se llevará a cabo en una fecha posterior en el cementerio de Notre Dame en Pawtucket.
