Arturo DeJesus Gonzalez

Arturo DeJesus Gonzalez, 73, passed away in Providence on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the Hope Health and Hospice Center of RI. Born in Medellin, Colombia on May 1, 1948, he was the son of Marias de los Angeles Restrepo and Arturo de Jesus Gonzalez. 

Arturo met and married Olivia Lopez, they were together for over 40 years, together they raised a son, Deiffer Ocampo. He worked with the National Lumber Warehouse in Mansfield, MA for 7 years before retiring in December 2020. Arturo was a passionate fan of the fútbol team the Deportivo Independiente Medellín; he proudly sported red and blue especially during the Copa Colombia in 2020 when they took home the win. He was a lover of romantic music, he was often seen dancing up and down the halls of his home to this music. 

Aside from his wife and step-son, Arturo is survived by his loving children in Colombia, Edwin Gonzalez and Marisela Gonzalez; his brother, Tulio Gonzalez and his grand-daughter, Lissette Ocampo. He was predeceased by his parents.
