Angeles Milagros Cruz Laureano

Angeles Milagros Cruz Laureano of Providence passed away on the morning of December 27, 2024, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence at the age of 99 years old.  She was the wife of the late Desiderio Benitez.

Angeles was born on October 1, 1925, in Bayamon, Puerto Rico to Nicolas Cruz and Maria Magdalena Laureano.  She had a deep and committed Christian Pentecostal faith and to her loving family.  Prior to her retirement, Angeles worked as a teacher.  Ms. Cruz Laureano had lived in Rhode Island for the past 11 years since settling here from her native Puerto Rico. 

Angeles Milagros Cruz Laureano is survived by her children, Angela M. Benitz Sabater of Providence and Nicolas Rodriguez of Puerto Rico.  In addition to her husband the late Desiderio Benitez, Ms. Cruz Laureano is reunited with her son the late Edgardo Benitez.  She was a grandmother of 7, a great grandmother of 10, and great great grandmother of 3 and a great great great grandmother of 2.  Angeles is also survived by her sister Julia Cruz of Puerto Rico.

A funeral service will be held on Monday December 30, 2024, from 10am-12pm in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls, RI 02863.  Angeles will be laid to rest at a later date in Puerto Rico.
