AFTERGLOW
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, la like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun Of happy memories that l leave When life is done.
“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want;
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters;
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil;
for Thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
— Psalm 23
