Ana Maria Rosado, 70, of Pawtucket, died on October 5, 2021 while going through rehabilitation at the Charlesgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Providence after surgery. Born in Ponce, she was the daughter of Gabriel Cavan Rosado and Amelia Santiago. After the unexpected death of her mother, Amelia, while Ana was in 8th Grade, she left school to help her father raise her young siblings.
Ana grew up knowing that her family came before anything else in her life and she worked towards raising her own son with the same priority. She was an Islander who treasured the sun and waves of her island home, it was only appropriate that she found her way to the state with the most waterfront views in the country. Her family described her in many ways, the most appropriate verbiage being "fierce;" she was a fierce protector, a resilient woman and a vivacious person who treasured her culture. She loved to cook and dance her way through events and made sure to always laugh and smile through the tough moments.
Ana is survived by her son, Luis Rosado of Pawtucket; grandsons, Louis and Shane, both of Pawtucket; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, siblings and other friends around the state and country.
