Robert L. Thibeault, a real estate entrepreneur and owner of RLT Associates for many years, passed away peacefully on Saturday after a recent illness. He was born in Attleboro, MA, a son of the late Wilfred A. and Blanche (Coirbi) Thibeault. He lived most of his life in Central Falls. Bob was an enterprising person who opened the first "Disco" in Rhode Island called "The Gallery". He also owned and operated numerous other venues including, The Mirror Bar in Woonsocket, The Continental in Smithfield, the Town & Country, later becoming The Loft, also in Smithfield and several other clubs in the downtown Providence area. He was educated in local school systems and also served in the US Air Force for four years. He and his family were parishoners of the former Notre Dame Church in Central Falls.
He is survived by his life-partner Kenneth L. Clauson a sister, Eileen Corbi-Moran, two brothers, Roland "Ronnie" Thibeault and Normand Thibeault. He also leaves several cousins and a multitude of friends. He was the brother of the late Geraldine Wheeler and Donald Thibeault. Bob was also the devoted nephew of Marianne and Virginia Thibeault, with whom he shared his home on Lonsdale Avenue.
Visitation Saturday afternoon from 1 until 4PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
