John Austin McCallum

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our little brother John Austin McCallum, on December 24, 2017 at the age of 38, after an illness. John was predeceased by his father, Howard "Scotty" McCallum and his brother Stanley Nelson Holbrook.  He is survived by his sisters, Denise Holbrook Buckley and her husband Dan of Sandwich, MA, Linda Holbrook Santos and her husband Dimas of South Lancaster, their children Ana-Sofia Fernandes and Nicolas Santos, and Luanne McCallum of Middleboro. Brothers, Scott McCallum of  Amherst and Allen McCallum of Plymouth .His mother Donna McCallum of Holton Kansas, and many friends and colleagues.

John was born and raised in Halifax, graduating from Silver Lake High School, class of 1998, where he was Captain of the wrestling team, winning tournaments and medals. John, a video gamer, he also loved to play Magic the Gathering, and loved his comic books! He also loved his work, over the years he worked for several land surveying companies, loved the outdoors, hanging out with his friends, sports, he was very loved and will be missed by so many. A private celebration of his life was held on April 15, at The Fireside Restaurant in Middlleborough MA. 

In Memory of John , we ask that everyone to please be aware of the signs of mental illness, the addiction it may lead to, help when you can, and have tolerance and kindness for those afflicted.
